Where people and place meet

Our farm story

We’re a family-run farm and design studio on Salt Spring Island, growing seasonal produce and flowers and creating expressive floral work for weddings, events, and our local community.

Our farm is a place for growing, learning, and gathering. Rows of cultivated vegetables and annual flowers overlap with beds of roses, perennials, and plants gone to seed. What we grow finds its way into our floral studio, our workshops, and the celebrations held on the farm, offering people a sense of connection to both the season and the place.

We’re always experimenting, refining growing methods, trying new varieties, and finding ways to bring the character of the farm into our work. That curiosity shapes our florals — from simple, garden-inspired pieces to custom-built installations — and supports the kind of thoughtful, place-based celebrations that feel true to the people who gather here.

We’re Molly Wilson and Zack Hemstreet — partners in work and life, raising two kids on this farm, and tending to something that feels bigger than the sum of its parts.

Molly first fell in love with farming as a child through farm camps and school gardens, and later as a teenager and young adult working with kids outdoors. The sense of place, connection, and purpose found in food and flowers has always shaped her work. Today, Molly leads our floral studio, bringing an intuitive design approach rooted in seasonality, emotion, and a deep respect for what the farm offers.

Zack found his way to farming while studying Sustainable Design in Vermont’s Mad River Valley. While managing the garden at Yestermorrow (where we met!), he fell in love with growing food and the creative, problem-solving nature of farm work. His background in sustainability and building means he now designs and builds many of the installations and structures used across the farm — a blend of practical skill and artistry.

Both of us love to grow things, to make things, and to welcome people in. We’re passionate about lifelong learning and about balancing purposeful work with play. Our two kids — and the many children who come through our summer camps, workshops, and field trips — constantly remind us of the joy and openness we want the farm to hold.

What we offer now is an extension of all the threads that brought us here: the beauty of flowers, the creativity of making something with your hands, the warmth of gathering with your people, and the sense of ease that comes from being welcomed well.

Whether someone arrives for a wedding, a workshop, a school field trip, or a visit to the farm stand, our hope is the same — that they feel at home, connected to the land, and part of something generous.

It’s been a rich and rewarding labour of love to build the farm to where it is now. Along the way, we’ve been supported and inspired by countless people — mentors, farm staff, customers, friends, and family. The farm is part of a larger community, and that connectedness shapes everything we do.

We’re always happy to connect. If you’re curious about weddings, florals, or visiting the farm, we’d love to hear from you.
