Produce CSA

IMG_3802-1024x359.jpg

Our produce CSA is at the heart of our farm – we love growing food for our members.

From June through October, subscribers receive an abundant diversity of fresh organic vegetables, berries, and herbs each week. Pickups are at the farm, giving members the opportunity to experience the seasonal changes in our fields, visit with our animals, and enjoy the lake. Our goal is for our CSA members to feel like they are part of the farm for the season. As we complete our sixth CSA season, we are more excited than ever to continue feeding this vibrant community of food lovers and fostering relationships with the families we feed.

WHAT’S IN A SHARE?

Each week’s share includes a variety of vegetables, berries, and herbs. We work hard to balance well-loved staples such as carrots, tomatoes, and lettuce, with a few more unusual vegetables for members to enjoy. We aim for diversity in the shares, with six to eight different items each week. Members receive a weekly newsletter containing recipes and updates from the farm.

SEASON LENGTH

We are offering two options for the 2018 season. Our Main Season CSA will begin in early June and and run through the end of October (approximately 22 weeks). This year, for the first time, we are also offering an extended Extended Season CSA, which will run from early May through November (approximately 30 weeks). The exact start dates depend on weather and other factors—members will be informed of the start date two weeks before the first pickup.

CSA PICKUP

CSA pickup is at the farm on either Tuesday or Friday afternoons between 2 and 6 pm (members must choose one day for the full season). Subscribers are welcome to come anytime during that window to pick up their share and enjoy the farm. We do a market-style pickup, meaning that members select the items from each week’s share from an abundant display. Members also have the option to trade vegetables for other available options in the member swap box.

VACATION TIME

We know that summer is a busy time. If you plan to be away during the season, we are happy to credit the value of up to two shares for pickup at a different time. If you plan to miss more than two pickups, you are welcome to send a friend to pick up the share for you.

COST

Our 2018 Main Season shares cost $660, and our Extended Season shares are $900. Each averages to about $30 per week. Over the course of the season, members receive 10-15% more produce than the price of the share.

Family Shares

We are happy to be offering a larger family share during the main CSA season. Subscribers who chose the Family Share add-on will receive 3-4 additional items each week (most often familiar items like extra carrots, potatoes, or salad mix).
